Founded in 2005 by Former Denver Broncos linebacker, Karl Mecklenburg, the REACH (Rewarding Experiences for All Children) Foundation’s mission is to foster a love of reading in K through 5th grade Denver area children through an incentive-based reading program. Since the inception of the Foundation, more than 30,000 children have participated in the REACH for a Book program, with the number of students in the program increasing every year. The program is structured to encourage students to read a minimum of 100 minutes per week outside of the classroom and achieve their reading goal.
The REACH Foundation believes giving children educational support is the foundation for their self-esteem and allows them to achieve their goals and dream of a bright future. At the REACH Foundation, we strive to help at-risk youth attain their potential, build better lives, and thereby build stronger communities.
The REACH Foundation is managed by volunteer Board members and one part-time employee. From each dollar raised, more than 80 percent goes towards our REACH for a Book program and less than 20 percent goes towards administrative costs.
